Industry Relations, Communications and User Services Manager

Published on Dec. 16th 2025

MetaMusic is a non-profit organization whose mission is to equip the music industry in Québec and Canada with tools and best practices for managing music metadata.  In 2025, MetaMusic launched a platform for managing, indexing, and distributing music metadata, designed to help the industry regain control of its metadata assets and improve the discoverability of locally produced music across digital ecosystems.

The Role

Are you interested in playing a strategic role in music discoverability and supporting the adoption of a sector-wide digital infrastructure?

MétaMusique is seeking a self-motivated and autonomous professional to lead:

  • B2B communications
  • Industry relations
  • User support and services
  • The collection and analysis of user feedback to support the continuous improvement of the metadata platform

Your mission: to accelerate the adoption, visibility and continuous improvement of Québec’s and Canada’s music metadata infrastructure for data entry, indexing and distribution.

You will work closely with the Executive Director, the Technology Project Manager, and MetaMusic’s founding partners.

Application deadline: Friday, January 9, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Relations

  • Update and operationalize the deployment and outreach strategy for MétaMusique’s platform and services across key audiences (labels, publishers, self-producing artists, managers, technical contributors, etc.) in Québec, Canada and the Francophone market.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing partners and support their onboarding and integration into the platform.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, joint communications and collaborative content initiatives.

B2B Communications and Marketing

  • Design and implement a CRM and email strategy (Brevo/Mailchimp), including updates, newsletters, invitations and follow-ups.
  • Redefine and execute the content strategy for the website (WordPress) and social media channels.
  • Produce or coordinate the production of content (editorial, video, educational modules).
  • Plan, update and optimize training-related content on topics such as discoverability, metadata indexing and industry best practices.

User Experience and Support

  • Provide ongoing user support to facilitate platform adoption and understanding.
  • Document recurring needs and develop support tools (FAQs, quick guides, tutorials).
  • Prioritize urgent support requests versus longer-term enhancement needs.

Data, Analysis and Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the collection, analysis and interpretation of usage data (Google Analytics, CRM tools, etc.).
  • Track user feedback, prioritize improvements, and collaborate with the technical team on issue tracking and follow-up.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform and internal processes.

Project Management and Organizational Support

  • Support public funding applications and business development initiatives.
  • Manage external service providers (graphic design, video production, tools, consultants).
  • Provide support to the Executive Director on various administrative and strategic matters.

Profile Sought

Required

  • Strong knowledge of the recorded music sector, music publishing and rights management ecosystems.
  • Solid understanding of music metadata issues and unique identifiers (ISWC, ISRC, ISNI, IPI, IPN).
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B communications, project management, CRM implementation, analytics, social media and web content management (WordPress), as well as the adoption of new digital tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment; leadership, rigour, initiative, strong interpersonal skills, political awareness and diplomacy.
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a role related to recorded music, digital distribution, music publishing, rights management or metadata.
  • Professional bilingualism in French and English, including client support contexts.

Assets

  • Hands-on experience using the MétaMusique platform.
  • Knowledge of DDEX standards and/or music databases such as MusicBrainz, Discogs or Wikidata.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer, training or change management.

  • Start date: as soon as possible.
  • Salary: $50,000–$60,000 CAD, depending on experience.
  • Annual remote work allowance and company-provided computer.
