MetaMusic is an independent non-profit organization serving music creators and the music industry in Quebec and Canada. The organization was founded in 2020 by a consortium of professional associations, collectives and unions active in Quebec and Canada: ADISQ, APEM, ARTISTI, CQM, GMMQ, SOCAN, SOPROQ, SPACQ-AE and UDA.
Our mission
MetaMusic brings together key players in the music sector to provide the music industry with collective tools and best practices to regain control of our musical metadata, simplify its management and optimize the discoverability of Canadian music!
Our mandate: develop a helpful tool to simplify the management and diffusion of metadata!
MetaMusic has launched a public beta of the first version of its music metadata capture, indexing and distribution tool, designed to increase the discoverability and efficiency of album releases. It will enable local artists and artisans to:
â document and index their new releases, works and sound recordings with all their collaborators
â collect and link the music industryâsunique industry: ISNI, IPI, IPN, ISRC, ISWC and UPC
â register mandatory declarations and filings of their releases
â export their metadata to reference them wherever necessary and relevant!
